Pearson Education Accounting/Finance Lecturer of the Year Award

Pearson Education Australia is pleased to announce that the winner of its Accounting/Finance Lecturer of the Year Award for 2008 is Dr Anne Abraham of The University of Wollongong. Anne was presented with a prize of $3000 and a plaque at the AFAANZ Conference Dinner at the Hilton, Sydney on Tuesday 8th July 2008.

The judges also acknowledged the contribution that Dr Vikash Bora Ramiah of RMIT University, makes to accounting and finance education by awarding him a Highly Commended award.

This award, aimed at encouraging and recognising innovative teaching practices in Accounting and Finance, recognises outstanding contributions to teaching in terms of:

  • Interest and enthusiasm for teaching
  • Promoting student learning
  • Imaginative presentation of course material
  • Command of the subject matter
  • Participation in professional activities and research relating to teaching
