Pearson Education Australia and the ANZAM Executive are pleased to announce the
2008 Pearson Education ANZAM Management Educator of the Year Award.
Pearson Education Australia, with the endorsement of the ANZAM Executive,
created this award in 2003 to help acknowledge that striving for teaching
excellence is a vital part of an academic’s role. The aim of the award is to
encourage and recognise innovative teaching practices in Management at
universities throughout Australia and New Zealand.
Nominations will be accepted from full-time associate lecturers, lecturers and
senior lecturers, whose primary activity is teaching in undergraduate or
postgraduate university courses in the discipline of management. Nominees must
be current paid up members of ANZAM.
The Award consists of:
- $3,000
- a plaque to be presented at the ANZAM Conference in Auckland in December 2008
- Sponsorship of up to $2500 towards the presentation of a Master Class at the 2009 ANZAM conference.
Selection Criteria

Innovative teaching – evidence of innovative practice in teaching and learning

Facilitating learning – evidence of teaching and learning approaches that actively engage students

Dissemination of pedagogical perspectives – evidence of documentation, publication and dissemination of your pedagogical practices and perspectives

Research/Teaching Nexus – evidence of the building of connections across the research and teaching nexus
-
Improvement Focus – evidence of pro-active professional development as a teaching practitioner
-
Third Party Feedback – evidence of teaching effectiveness provided by students and colleagues
-
Content of Master Class – content and potential value of a 60 minute workshop to management academics
To apply for the Pearson Education ANZAM Management Educator of the Year
Award, simply download the
Rules, Criteria and Nomination Form (PDF 78KB),
and complete it using the Rules of Entry as a guideline. Nominations must be
submitted using the Nomination Form, with all details completed. Five
copies of all materials should be submitted. They should be
received no later than 5:00pm Friday, 29th August 2008.
Conditions

No correspondence will be entered into.

The judges' decision is final and they reserve the right not to make an award
if the criteria are not met.

Entrants must be currently employed within an Australian or New Zealand
university.

Management teaching being evaluated must have taken place within an Australian
or New Zealand university during 2007/2008.

Winner and entrants may be requested to be available for publicity purposes.
