WHAT IS AN ACTIVEBOOK?

An activebook is an interactive, online, digital book that completely integrates media resources with the textbook to enhance the student learning experience.

activebooks connect the conceptual flow of a text with a dynamic array of online resources. Integrated self-testing has been carefully developed to check student understanding of the concepts they have just read, while instant feedback provides an interactive study guide to further learning. Additional print, audio, and video components create a completely integrated live learning environment.

activebooks allow each student to participate in the web-enabled environment. Our online concept checks, for example, help students keep track of their progress. Active exercises, active examples, and online polls spark critical thinking. Multimedia components reach students of all learning styles through print, audio, and video resources, all delivered via links embedded in the online text.

2. Dynamic

In activebooks, dynamic content is moved online and updated as often as needed. Examples remain fresh, numbers stay current, and links are always active.

3. Customisable

An activebook provides students and instructors with greater levels of customisation. Instructors are able to annotate sections of the text for all their students, and track each student's progress through the material. Students will also be able to annotate their own activebooks and customise their view of the book resources.
