The Young Aussie Writers' Awards are now closed. Winners will be announced in October 2008.

Entrants have the chance to WIN a great prize pack including a book, being published in Comet, Explore or Challenge, a certificate and a small cash prize.

The YAWAs are not limited to one form or style of writing. Kids are encouraged to enter writing in a variety of genres, from stories and articles, to song lyrics, poems, reports, cartoons and plays – in fact anything with great writing in it!

Finalists will be selected by a panel of editors and authors, including this year’s guest judge, popular author Wendy Orr, best known for her children and young adult novels including Peeling the Onion, Mick and Daniel and Nim’s Island, now a movie starring Jodie Foster!
